Two Nights Stay At Jim Corbett - A Holiday To Reminisce

By the time my kid happily announced the start of his winter vacations, I’d already started making plans for my ‘much dreamed of’ visit to the Corbett national park. I’d surfed the web to find the most suitable accommodation, economical and comfortable, and had zeroed in on the Serenity Corbett resort. Hence, we packed our bags and were off to Jim Corbett National Park for a couple of nights.

It was a bright sunny morning in the month of January and we (my husband, my four year old kid and I) were driving to Corbett, enjoying the view of the hills and the greenery outside. We had decided to go by our own car as the distance from Delhi to Jim Corbett is roughly 300 kms and takes around six hours. The advantage of going by one’s own vehicle is that you can stop wherever and whenever you feel like. I was quite anxious about my choice of Corbett resort, but my anxiety was put to rest by the manager who called us up while on our way, to check what time we would be reaching the resort and what kind of food we would like to have(Wow!). Once we reached, the hospitality offered was insurmountable! Starting from the rooms to the food, the ambience, the service, the staff, everything was flawless. The room was spacious and a duplex. Although our kid sleeps with us, but when he saw this small room upstairs, he kind of fell in love with it! The beds had been prepared nicely and were quite inviting. The towels, the bed sheets, the quilts, the bathroom and the room itself were all absolutely neat and clean.

The place was so peaceful that one could hear a pin drop which made my husband say that the resort had been very aptly named (Serenity). One could hear the sound of river Kosi flowing in its backdrop. The staff at the resort was very helpful and kind enough to make arrangements for our jeep safari. My kid thoroughly enjoyed the glimpses of so many animals and yes, we did get to spot the Royal Bengal tiger in all its beauty and magnificence which made our trip successful. Spending one day on the safari, we had the next day to relax and enjoy some other activities arranged by the resort itself. We thoroughly relished the mouthwatering dishes prepared by the chef along with the music and came back to Delhi totally satisfied and rejuvenated.
